The Car Gas Detector (CARGAS) project has been developed as an intelligent safety system specifically designed to detect the presence of carbon monoxide (CO) gas in vehicles. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and highly dangerous gas that can cause poisoning and even death if inhaled in high concentrations without being noticed. Therefore, this system utilizes the MQ-9 sensor, which functions to detect CO levels inside the vehicle and provide early warnings to drivers and passengers to prevent serious risks. Alerts are delivered in the form of a buzzer alarm and real-time notifications via the Telegram application, enabling users to take immediate action. Additionally, the system is equipped with a NEO-6M GPS module, which accurately tracks the vehicle’s location in case of an emergency, as well as an ESP32-CAM, which allows the transmission of images from inside the vehicle to designated recipients such as family members or authorities. All components are interconnected using ESP8266 or ESP32, ensuring efficient data transmission via an internet connection. Testing results indicate that the system functions effectively in providing early warnings and assisting users in taking necessary safety measures. This project not only has the potential to reduce the risk of accidents caused by carbon monoxide poisoning but also represents a significant step forward in addressing vehicle safety concerns.
