US216: IoT Smart Education Interactive Game

Low Zeng Yi Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

Abstract— This project introduces an innovative Internet of Things (IoT) Smart Education Interactive game
that combines traditional Monopoly board game mechanics with modern IoT technology to create an
interactive learning experience. Designed for the Form 2 Rekabentuk dan Teknologi (RBTK) syllabus, it aids
teachers in improving their teaching methods. The game features an ESP32 microcontroller, twelve limit
switches, four buttons each (A, B, C, D), and an OLED display. Each limit switch triggers a different
question displayed on the OLED, which the player can answer by selecting the push button. The game’s
unique location allows for flexibility that players can skip questions and navigate through them in any order
by the dice, with the game resetting after each participant answers six questions in a 2-player game, or four
questions per player in a 3-player game. The game also integrates IoT capabilities, sending scores to software
platforms, Thingspeak. This would provide teachers with real-time monitoring, allowing them to track
student performance remotely. A token-based system provides smooth transitions between questions. By
combining IoT with educational games, this project provides an engaging, data-driven learning tool that is
both fun and educational.
