This project presents a Smart Home system designed using the micro:bit to promote energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental awareness among young learners. The system integrates an RGB light bulb, a PIR motion sensor, a temperature and humidity sensor, and an OLED display. The PIR sensor detects human presence and controls the lighting, reducing unnecessary electricity usage, while the RGB bulb provides visual signals for comfort and safety. The temperature and humidity sensor monitors indoor conditions, and the OLED display communicates real-time data and reminders to conserve energy. By addressing everyday issues such as energy waste and indoor comfort, this Smart Home project supports multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The project not only introduces students to practical applications of technology but also fosters eco-friendly habits for a better future.
