US158: THE APPLICATION OF LAB-BASED EDUCATION AND LEARNING IN A TVET INSTITUTION

BRANDON REX RASUL SECURITY PLUS ACADEMY

This project focuses on the application of incorporating lab simulations into the teaching process to improve student engagement and practical learning. By integrating technology into instruction, students can learn procedures more effectively while also developing critical thinking and analytical skills to tackle real-world, simulated problems.Students will need to learn how to build up CCTV links from the TVET centre to external locations 500m–2 km outside the campus using lab simulations command centre. Students can learn how to establish a complete wireless connection between two places by doing this. In order to connect a wireless solution to the command centre back at the TVET centre, students are given real-world simulations and real-life difficulties to deal with.  Then, in order to acquire the necessary skills for their program, students will learn how to watch and assess the movements inside the CCTV area. They will also learn how to extract data from the lab simulation command centre, which is crucial for police reporting cases for use in court or for inquiry. By integrating technology into the command centre lab simulation process, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of setup, monitoring, extraction, and analysis, as well as firsthand experience with faults that arise during the entire cycle. In contrast to theory-cognitive-based teaching methods, this innovative lecture technique engages students, particularly those from the skills TVET who receive lower SPM scores and would benefit from a more motor skills-centric approach.
