The issue of children left in vehicles, which can result in serious injury or death from heatstroke, is receiving increasing attention worldwide. An additional safety system has been developed to provide early warning before a child is left in a car and an incident occurs. The purpose of this study is to design and develop a safety system based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology to detect the presence of children left in vehicles after the engine is turned off. This system uses a main controller, radar sensors, and an Ai Thinker module to capture images and send alerts directly to the guardian's smartphone. This component is installed on the roof of the car in the cabin. The system will operate after 1 minute, and the sensor will then detect whether a baby or child is in the car. Ai Thinker will capture images after detecting a baby or child in the vehicle. The result of this study is a system and design of an IoT-based safety system to detect the presence of a baby or child left in a vehicle after the engine is turned off, which is agreed upon by all panels. Therefore, this study has the potential to have a positive impact by reducing deaths and incidents involving babies or children left in cars.
