Malaysia's Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT) program is a vital government initiative ensuring that primary school students from low-income families receive daily nutritious meals. Despite its importance, managing RMT at the school level remains heavily dependent on manual processes; teachers hand-record attendance, administrators juggle fragmented data, canteen operators estimate daily meal quantities, and finance teams reconcile payments by hand. These inefficiencies lead to food wastage, budget errors, delayed payments, and an administrative burden that takes teachers away from their core responsibility.
e-RMT is a web-based platform developed to digitalize and streamline the RMT workflow through a single, centralized system. It uses QR-based attendance tracking to automatically identify eligible students each day and generate corresponding meal orders, reducing guesswork for canteen operators. A cost management module calculates meal expenses in real time, while a payment tracking feature helps ensure accurate and timely processing for canteen vendors. The system also generates standardized reports for school administration and JPN submission, reducing reliance on manual paperwork.
By consolidating these functions into one platform, e-RMT aims to improve the transparency, efficiency, and accountability of RMT operations at the school level. The system is designed with scalability in mind and has the potential to be adapted for broader school welfare programs in the future.
