Proper maintenance and tracking of medical equipment are critical to ensuring patient safety and operational efficiency in healthcare facilities. Currently, many institutions face challenges such as manual record-keeping, difficulty in locating devices across different laboratories, and inefficient disposal processes. These manual methods are prone to inaccuracies and are time-consuming for authorized officers. To address these issues, this project introduces the Biomedical Maintenance Record System (BIOMARS), a digital solution integrated with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. BIOMARS streamlines the registration, maintenance, and disposal of medical devices by replacing traditional hard-copy documentation with a centralized digital platform. By utilizing NFC-enabled stickers on equipment, users can easily track the movement of machines between locations and access real-time status updates. The implementation of BIOMARS aligns with the principles of Industrial Revolution 4.0, significantly reducing labor consumption and minimizing paper waste. Results indicate that the system enhances data accuracy, improves equipment security, and optimizes time management for healthcare staff. Ultimately, BIOMARS offers a sustainable and user-friendly framework for modernizing biomedical asset management.
