China’s rapid economic growth has sparked global interest in learning the Chinese language. In Malaysia, the first ASEAN country to establish diplomatic relations with China, this interest is further fueled by strong economic and strategic ties. Proficiency in Chinese offers Malaysians numerous advantages, including improved employment opportunities and cross-cultural communication. However, non-native learners often encounter challenges in mastering the language. A teaching strategy called ProduChinese, based on the Production-Oriented Approach (POA) and aligned with Outcome-Based Education (OBE), has been implemented to address this. This task-based method has proven effective in enhancing student engagement and improving learning outcomes in CFL courses.
