Food waste contributes approximately 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. The primary environmental impacts include Waste of Natural Resources (Resources like water and energy used in food production are wasted), Contribution to Climate Change (Decomposing food waste generates methane, a potent greenhouse gas) and Degradation of Land (Landfills expand as more food waste is generated, harming ecosystems). Therefore, our project namely, The Unsung Heroes “Allium Family” Food Waste explores the potential of onion and garlic peels through the 3R concept: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. By highlighting the many benefits of these peels, we promote zero-waste awareness. They can be repurposed as Food Seasoning, Skin and Hair Care, Organic Fertilizer or Repellent, Household Cleaner and Natural Dye.  By promoting the use of all parts of onions and garlic to minimize household waste, our project aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that is SDG 2, SDG 11, SDG 12 and SDG 13 in reducing food waste, minimising methane emissions, contributing to safer and more sustainable urban environments. Through these efforts, we can transform food waste into valuable resources, fostering a more sustainable future
