This project investigates blueberries as a natural, eco-friendly pH indicator for sustainable science. Rich in anthocyanins, blueberry extract produces distinct color changes when exposed to acids and bases, offering a safe alternative to synthetic indicators. The experiment involved testing common household substances, revealing clear transitions from reddish-pink in acidic solutions to greenish-blue in alkaline conditions. These findings highlight the reliability, accessibility, and environmental benefits of natural indicators. By promoting green chemistry and reducing chemical waste, this study demonstrates how simple biological resources can support scientific learning while inspiring environmentally responsible innovation among students and future researchers.
