Virtual Booth

This project presents the development of SWIFTSPEAK, a communication tool designed to assist non-verbal individuals with severe autism in expressing essential needs. Using the ADDIE framework, SWIFTSPEAK features a color-coded button interface that sends notifications to caregivers' smartphones for timely responses. The tool integrates Arduino microcontrollers, IoT, and 3D design to ensure an intuitive user experience. A pilot study showed its effectiveness in improving communication and reducing frustration for users and caregivers. This research emphasizes the role of early intervention and accessible communication tools in enhancing the lives of individuals with severe autism.
