RECLAIM (Recycling Classification and Live Automated Integrated Monitoring System) is an AI-powered smart waste bin designed to solve the problem of improper waste sorting. Many people today are busy and often confused about how to separate recyclable waste correctly, leading to low recycling rates in Malaysia.

RECLAIM uses YOLOv11 object detection technology to automatically classify four types of recyclable waste: aluminum, glass, paper, and plastic. The system is built on a Raspberry Pi 3 and Arduino Uno, equipped with a USB camera, VL53L0X ToF sensor, MG995 servo motors, and an ATGM336H GPS module. Once waste is detected and classified, the servo motor automatically directs it into the correct compartment.

A real-time web dashboard built with Django and MySQL allows users and waste management operators to monitor bin status, waste volume, and bin location remotely. This system aims to make accurate recycling as effortless as tossing a piece of trash.
