The Smart AI Library Book Monitoring and Notification System with Paperless Innovation transforms conventional school library operations by integrating AI-based image recognition, IoT connectivity, and cloud automation. Unlike existing manual or barcode systems, this project introduces new concept using sensor and machine-learning models deployed using mobile app platform. Each borrow or return event is detected automatically and updated to a cloud database without human intervention. The system then computes due dates and issues real-time notifications via mobile notification to both students and parents—eliminating paper slips and physical reminder logs. Librarians benefit from an automated reporting dashboard that provides borrowing analytics and overdue statistics, significantly reducing workload. It also enhances accountability among students and improves parent-teacher communication. The inclusion of an AI dashboard that generates borrowing trends and overdue analytics marks a significant leap toward intelligent library management. Technically, the work demonstrates a low-cost, end-to-end smart control system integrating sensors, database communication, and machine-learning recognition. Environmentally, it promotes paperless sustainability, aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The project’s novelty lies in combining AI vision with automated notification, delivering a scalable, real-time, and sustainable digital transformation model for modern school ecosystems.
