HS313: Enhancing Elderly Care With Real-Time Monitoring: A Study On Elderly Life Assistant (EyLA) For Remote Health And Environmental Sensing

This research presents a comprehensive analysis of the Elderly Life Assistant
(EyLA) system, a smart monitoring solution designed to enhance elderly care
through real time health and environmental sensing. It integrates vital health
indicators (heart rate, respiration) and environmental variables (LPG gas levels,
temperature, humidity) for remote monitoring by caregivers. The study evaluates
EyLA's effectiveness in continuous monitoring, its impact on response times to
critical events, and its user acceptance based on the Technology Acceptance Model
(TAM). We do data analysis based on a survey 10 elderly people and 10 caregivers.
Furthermore, this research compares EyLA with existing real-time elderly monitoring
systems and explores the broader landscape of Internet of Things (IoT) applications
in elderly care, including current trends, challenges, and emerging technologies.
Finally, it identifies potential areas for improvement and future research directions for
similar systems. The findings indicate EyLA's viability in improving safety and
response capabilities, coupled with high user acceptance, making it a promising
solution for supporting independent living while maintaining health visibility for
families. For advancement in geriatric health monitoring, paving the way for more
comprehensive and integrated care solutions.
