The use of metal-air batteries has been a blooming topic in the portable energy industry. This source of energy uses the basic principle of a galvanic cell to create a current. Various metals have been tested but the usage of aluminium metal with a potassium hydroxide solvent (KOH) is the most efficient at producing power. The benefits of a metal-air battery lie in its production and post-life disposability. Aluminium metal-air batteries use more acquirable and sustainable resources and are less toxic to the environment. Applying this power source to a portable lamp will make it easier for users such as students to have a light source sustainably.
