Approach is a key aspect in determining the planning of language teaching and learning strategies. Various approaches have been used so that language teaching and learning can be carried out effectively, starting with the traditionalist approach to the emergence of a modern approach that emphasizes interactive teaching and learning methods and techniques recommended in student-centered learning. In addition, the variation of the approach allows language teachers to integrate the elements of each teaching approach with a strategy teaching method known as the Receptive Duo Approach by using the process of assimilation (harmony) between the two teaching approaches. Accordingly, this article aims to discuss the concept of assimilation of case-based and task-based teaching approaches in learning. The discussion also covers the conceptual framework of the Receptive Duo Approach in language teaching and learning. The research methodology is in the form of a literature review by collecting information from various sources related to the discussion. The results of the study found that the Receptive Duo Approach can be assimilated in language teaching and learning in addition to encouraging the use of language learning strategies among language students.
