The use of manual irrigation systems in agriculture is often inefficient and leads to water waste and poor crop growth. The intensive need for labor to do the tasks such as watering the plant or monitoring the farm will increase the operational cost for farmers. Furthermore, the lack of automated systems that can automatically monitor, detect the object and target specific areas of field or crop will become another obstacle to farmers. By utilizing CNC machines technology, it can provide solutions to farmers to solve this problem in the agricultural sector. Developing CNC-based robots for agricultural purposes will be of major help to farmers who have limitations such as cost and time constraints, especially urban farmers. For example, in the cultivation of button mushrooms, farmers need to monitor the growth of the mushrooms, water the mushrooms and check whether the button mushrooms can be harvested. With this CNC-based agricultural robot, it can monitor the crop area, water the button mushrooms and check if the button mushrooms are ready to harvest automatically. Therefore, the main goal of the project is to design and develop an automatic plant monitoring and spraying robot based on CNC machines for sustainable agricultural practices.
