This project focuses on the development of smart glasses that seamlessly integrate cutting-edge technology, including augmented reality (AR) displays and artificial intelligence (AI). These smart glasses empower users by providing real-time information and hands-free access to digital content, enhancing communication, navigation, productivity, and leisure activities. The integration of AI into smart glasses has the potential to revolutionise various sectors. However, existing smart glasses face challenges related to customisation, size, and adaptability. Overcoming these challenges is crucial for creating user-friendly smart glasses. The project aims to design and develop prototypes for an AI-based intelligent assistant and an assistant eye device focusing on engineering design and user-friendliness. The report also includes a market analysis of popular smart glasses, such as Huawei Eyewear, Razer Anzu Smart Glasses, and Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, highlighting their unique features and drawbacks. The project methodology involves conceptual ideas, product design specifications, designs, and final product design. Two prototypes are introduced: ARES, an assistant eye device, and AURORA, an AI-based intelligent assistant. Testing and analysis demonstrate the stability and accuracy of the ARES prototype on different glass frames and the capabilities of AURORA in answering questions and launching functions. In summary, this project successfully develops prototypes for an intelligent assistant and an assistant eye device. Future recommendations include integrating AURORA and ARES into a single app, adding more features to ARES, and keeping AURORA updated with current data to enhance its capabilities and reliability.
